I'm interested in the concept, but I don't think I have the motivation, time, or skills to play as a good opponent

At least 3 * 2 = 6 weeks. And if people want to pause during the holidays, it'll be closer to two months, yes.
Also, resigning/leaving the game will bring the game out of balance, so a little dedication is appreciated.

Can I suggest that anyone who doesn't place in the top 3-5 (per game) gets entered into a secondary "shield" set of matches? I know it's a little more fuss to administrate, but at least then everyone would get 2 competitive matches?- granthor
