By my calculations, the game has sold precisely 5,013 more L2s because of the Tooth and Nail medal. Those numbers were adjusted (+33.6% + y = 12.7*) to account for the influx during the holiday season. I then subtracted the net gain over the past four week based on my factually based theory that Ron is creating "empty shell" games to hide the drop in L1s and pad the numbers we see on the servers page.

Not sure what numbers you guys are looking at.

So, I have a Subterfuge game coming up. I hear my... let's call them opponents. Can I call them opponents? They aren't competition, though, just opponents. Little Marco? No amazing diplomacy skills. Not like me. And Lyin' Ted? Well, everyone knows he's a liar. Everyone knows he'll backstab. Hillary? I haven't even started on Hillary yet. And Bernie, well, Bernie just wants to gift everyone drillers. Not me. I'm trustworthy. I'm the best at trustworthiness.

Listen, we're going to make Subterfuge great again. The problem is, we just don't win at Subterfuge anymore. But I know people, I know the best people, and we're to take a look at some things. We're going to look, and we're going to make better deals. Amazing deals. Nobody makes better deals than me. Diplomacy? Nobody is a better diplomat than me. I have amazing diplomacy skills. Right now we're getting killed in diplomacy. We're getting absolutely destroyed. I have nothing against China, nothing against Mexico. But they're killing us at Subterfuge. I got two negative medals yesterday, and...I'm pretty annoyed about it.

Now, the backstabber medal - whatever. I understand not everyone looks at diplomacy the same way. Here's the story:
One of my neighbors (let's call him "Navy") sent drillers at a factory to which I was closer. Those subs were loaded up before the game started, so I knew exactly what I needed to send in order to keep it. When they realized it, I let them know they could gift them, and I would send them back. We worked it out, they gifted, I gifted, everything is fine.
Then, 2 days later, another player starts a 4-way chat to eliminate red. There was no talk of an alliance or peace at all in this chat; it was strictly business on getting red. We all worked together and smashed that poor guy.
All the while, I was positioning drillers. Immediately after red had turtled to one outpost, I started attacking "Navy." It was quick and easy to dispatch him.
Backstabber medal. And a small fit about me attacking, calling it a betrayal and etc.
I explained that we had never discussed peace, we had never talked about an alliance, and I never said I wouldn't attack - how could that be a backstab?
The reply to this? Toxic medal. That's lame, at best. I pride myself in always being a good sport, trying my best to be nice, even when this game is at its most frustrating or disappointing. So, that one sucks.

Worst part? I'm on android, and can't return the favor. Not that I would, unless there was a "sore loser" medal (Isn't that what you called them in one of your videos, Bangerz? =P ).

I'm curious to see what effect these medals might have on future play.
