You keep flip flopping back and forth on your reasonings for not buying it. And these are not valid excuses. You have specifically chosen not to buy the game:

tw2000 wrote:I have almost never spent any money on any games

tw2000 wrote:I am a conservative person and won't spend any money on luxuries

And you clearly have the means to do so:

Choosing not to support the game is 100% fine. As it's you're right to do so. No one can fault you for it. But it's important for you to understand that games like subterfuge are a rarity. And the reason there are so very few games like Subterfuge on the app store is because there's a small player base for them. And most have been huge financial disasters. (Look at Outwitters)

So if you like the game, and you would love to see updates to it, as well as similar games from other Devs in the future, you should support it. Because for each time a game like Subterfuge tanks financially, there's a smaller chance of a similar type game coming out in the future.

So unless you want to play games like farmville and Clash of Clans, I'd highly suggest you go work for 30 minutes and then walk to the store to buy an iTunes Gift Card.

  • I spend 10 bucks on green daily, 10 bucks for a life time L2 clearance is a great deal to me. Though its rather high for an android game the fact that they made it free to play for the most part affords them the right to make it expensive. They let you fall in love with the game before you ever have the need to spend a penny.

If they lower it they may get more people, but their making less money per person. So ill leave the Dev's to figure out the most profitable way to do it

That being said, I am fine having L1 tbh, as long as the game remains fair without me paying anything.

    Mind blown.

So buying the game is no great shakes for you, financially. You *really* want to support the devs, but as there are people starving in Africa/wherever, you'd feel bad about supporting 'the wrong group'.

Unbelievable. Keep playing for free, and allow us people who are putting money into this game to keep your game afloat.

  • Well i hope he did not buy a smartphone or a tablet either, but plays subterfuge on a loaned device because the couple 100$ for the device could easily feed an african family for a year or more. Not to forget the electricity he needs to charge the devices and pay for it.. nah all luxury.
The cave he lives in must be nice while he is feeding the really needing ones.

  • Jeez stop hating guys  , no reason to get toxic over this.
To get back on track, when I was considering buying Subterfuge, $10 was slightly off-putting (perhaps because that would also have been my first app purchase) but after looking through the forums, posts like the ones v3xt made persuaded me - it really is a good deal considering the quality and caliber of a game like Subterfuge, which has basically all aspects to become a PC game if it wanted, and all the fun and strategy with it.

This is important, I feel as though topics like this get so toxic way too quickly.

Just to put in my input, I think those mini purchases for unlimited games, unlimited moves, etc would actually be a decent idea.
People keep bringing up games such as Clash of Clans, but let's actually think about it.

Clash of Clans makes money off gems, the biggest gem package costs roughly $100 and the cheapest costs $5. People spend money because they don't want to simply spend the bulk amount of money on a game all a once.
I know people that play games like that have easily spent hundreds on them except they paid in little costs of $5 and $10.

Obviously $100 is a lot more than $10, but spending $10 is not an easy thing for some people.
I feel as though some of you are being slightly ignorant. Not everyone is the same age as you and not everyone has access to the same resources and freedoms.
I have L2 but I doubt most of you could understand just how much I went through to scrape together the money and sneak out, risking my parent's wrath just to buy that gift card.

I know a lot of you don't agree with me, and that's okay, but please think about the people who just can't buy L2.

I think smaller purchases could be a good idea and also maybe some extra fun things as mentioned in the monetization thread.
    Thanks for reading
