[SPOILERS!] - Live Broadcast game

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • It is so wild to hear the voices of people I've been chatting with for the last 10+ days. This was such a crazy game! I am stoked to see players from the broadcast in games of mine in the future.

I'm curious if he plans to gift it now. That'd be a fascinating attack. "Here, take this gift king!"

pretty sure dane and road were in fact talking about using the king as a gift offensively for a little while, but decided it was too risky

  • I think you guys have shown that kings are quite powerful in the long run. I'm not sure I'd gift one for a gambit anymore.

yeah, one king is kind of a questionable choice under most circumstances, but theres no down side to the second (as long as you keep them on the same outpost), so the buff it gives you is pretty crazy.

    What did you imagine?

Anytime you want to gift me a king, go right ahead.

Haha, I don't know how to put it into words, but I'm sure we all put voices to the names without thinking about it... Or maybe I'm just crazy....

Yeah, the idea had been tossed around until I got the second king. But I decided I was in a good position to play aggressively, and the King's downside didn't really affect me on offense. Without giving any spoilers, though, I did *strongly* consider using that move against Braxo on day 8.

  • I thought that first Hypnotist to a King really was going to be gifted to me in some sort of planned assault to drop the shields.

I personally viewed the King's shield ability as a detriment early in games, so only expect them in late games when the player has no territory to protect. I also never used one myself, so I wasn't sure if there were uses of them that I haven't thought of.

Now, if you only could have gifted one to Key Lime that would have been amazing.

Haha, that never occurred to me. His strategy did kind of bother me... He just coasted to the end. It's one of the parts of the game that frustrate me, how that's a valid way to play.

    *EDIT* Spoilers removed :P

  • If only you could have set aside your differences for a minute...

His turtling strategy was one thing, he did not look like a fun target to try and attack. His sit in second place till the end strategy was smart too.
