Playing with a friend

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • There isn't much of an advantage from what I can tell. I mean, what can be done in real life that can't be sent as a screenshot or explained in words?
Well let's be honest, I don't know what I'm talking about.

  • It's my understanding that screenshots aren't allowed. Maybe I'm mistaken.

  • There has apparently been talk about this during the development phase. It was decided that only text chat would be implemented, so the game doesn't let you share screenshots.

Nothing is stopping you from doing it outside of the game, but I would like to work with only what the game gives me. Anything else is aside the spirit of the game.

  • I shared a screenshot with someone in my game over Twitter, but not if anything that would give a tactical advantage. It was of someone gifting themselves drillers. This had happened a few times and was only for comical value. How could you not share that?!

If I have a question about something that I can't see but an ally can I just ask. It's usually about what's stationed there.

  • I've played a bunch of games with friends including a 10 player where 6 of us knew each other. Was this a disadvantage to the 4 random players? Hell no. They were my strongest allies because nearly all 6 of us had the mentality of "If I can't win I don't want any of my friends winning". Just because we were friends didn't make them allies inside the game.

I can't imagine many people passing up the opportunity to snipe a friend's Queen if the situation arose. Bragging rights FTW!

You're right if it automatically makes us partners again. But I won't partner with someone unless I can benefit from it in this game.

I haven't come across the same player twice yet, so I really don't know how I'd behave actually.

What kind of notes would you keep?

I don't know. But I think I wouldn't note if hebetrayed me simply because this doesn't mean he is doing it again. I think the decision to backstab someone is always dependent on the situation. We can be allies from the very beginning until the end if that helps me, if we play again in another game I may betray you when it's the best for me in this situation.

  • Ive played other computer games with alliances. It sucks to find out late game the alliance you were working to undermine is 2 roommate, brothers, significant others etc.
