Can you make a ruling as to whether the games should be anonymous or not?
Personally I think they should be anonymous.
It might be a bit of a headache to organize but I think the benefits of anonymity will outweigh that. And we have time to plan it.
It would also add a fun final "kick" to game results when it is revealed who was playing with who.
There are two ways to go:
Option A: Accept that the host will not be anonymous, as he will be giving out the invitations and will also be the first person in the game (simpler)
When you make the brackets, don't release them to anybody except the hosts. That way people won't know who is in their game with them, other than the host.
Option B: Try to make the host anonymous too (or at least somewhat anonymous). This is how to do it:
You create the brackets, but don't release them to anybody.
Hosts make their games.
You PM each host to invite a different host to your game. You also PM the second host the list of players that they are to invite to the first host's game. That host then uses that PM invite code to send out invites to the other host's game.
Example: you PM me to invite r10t-- to my game, and you PM r10t-- the guest list for my game
r10t-- then sends that PM invite code to the people for MY game
therefore the people in MY game don't know that I am the host, and I don't know who the people are in my game
The people in my game will only know that r10t-- ISN'T the host, and I will only know that the people in my game are not the ones I sent PM's out to
I think that's as anonymous as we can get it.
What do you think?
