Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

In chess too, I have heard of discrimination, but just an extremely tiny portion of people do it. It is just another problem that cannot be solved, there will always be haters.

And anyway I have realised that the main thing people probably don't like here is the fact that the group is called a 'committee', and how it sounds so official. Well you know what? It really isn't meant to be, I just can't be bothered editing everything I wrote in the first post. I mean I can change it to The Subterfuge Tournament Group or something that sounds less official, But I would like to have at least 'Subterfuge' and 'Tournament' in it, and also a classifier such as 'group' or something else that sounds professional.

I think what TopKilla is referring to is the type of player you see in Dota, where they feel themselves so superior to anyone else because they have better stats, or whatever it is. It's not a healthy type of player to have in a game. I know I quit Dota specifically because of those players.

Yes I see what you mean. But can you really imagine hardcore Dota players playing Subterfuge? The entire environment of the community is different. Since Subterfuge is a strategy game played over 10 days, its more suitable for older people or people who like thinking about strategy or chess players, etc. etc. there's nothing too appealing about this game to your typical young gamer these days. And because of this environment, which I think is similar to that of a chess community, I seriously do not see much discrimination going on. Unless anyone wants to say that they know they're going to discriminate?

I said 'hardcore' for a reason (and that reason is to put the image of a typical gamer in your head). Like, if you see those guys who play dota and post it on youtube, and I don't think many of them would enjoy something as slow as subterfuge

  • If you know a game called "Starcraft" or "Starcraft 2" I believe that they probably would like a game like subterfuge. I play League and find subterfuge to be just as fun as league. I'm sure pro hardcore games wouldn't mind subterfuge as it is a really well rounded game with a lot of strategy and competition involved.

haha... i think you never play dota before. dota is slowest moba ever. it takes +-1 hour playing 1 game to finnish. and it has well balance game play with learning curve and deep strategy team play.

i think harcore dota gamer has interest with this slow pace game like subterfuge cause it can be secondary game in their phone just like i did. and just take 5 mins check to playing this game.

if you compare it to dota. dota has more complex dinamis game play. and this game has complex statis game play. i like the subterfuge game play cause it has not require much time to play.

as mobile game we can easy check it every time avaiable too. see i enjoy it. did your self ever play dota before ? dont judge people you dont know yet. why you so negatif about this game too boring for them ?

Yes I know dota takes 1 hour or so to play.....
Thats still quick compared to 10 days, and the main point is, in dota, you have to have quick thinking, quick actions, quick reflexes, and you have to have very good control over your mouse and keyboard. In subterfuge, you don't have any of that. Its not how fast you think that determines who's better, its how deeply you can think (pretty much anyway, because I don't think anyone 'runs out of time' to think in this game).

Anyway, just because you are an example doesn't tell us anything. OF COURSE you're an example. Otherwise how would you even be responding to my posts here? You have to see what the majority of people out there who don't have the patience or focus to concentrate for long periods of time, deciding what to do without actually doing anything. Its like what you do when you first start playing chess (and you're young). You don't even think about what you're opponent's going to do. You just play a move that looks like its a good attacking move, you aren't aware of any weaknesses you might have, and how you should defend. You just attack, basically. But as you get older, you learn to sit on your hands and think for thousands of times longer than when you were young. Because you have realized, chess isn't about speed (unless you're playing rapid or something), its about who can think deeper, regardless of how long it takes.
Of course, it takes a great amount of time, patience, and development of skill to be able to do this. Most dota players have no sense of slow, deep thought about strategy because that isn't what dota is about. When it comes to actually playing the game, all the decisions have to made spontaneously. Any thinking or hesitation is just more time you are at risk and time during which you may get killed.

Basically, dota-type games and subterfuge-type games are just at opposite ends of the spectrum. I can imagine someone playing Subterfuge to be take up dota because everyone is born with the same desire to do things quickly and just not worry about it, but I can't imagine someone playing dota to take up Subterfuge, unless they have trained their patience and ability to focus and concentrate for long periods of time. Its like enjoying classical music. If everyone understood its structure and the beautiful intricacy and elegant simplicity contained within it, I believe the portion of people who would like it would be the same as what it was when classical music was 'modern'. But the thing is, everyone these days is just listening to whatever sounds repetitive and addictive, because they can't be patient enough to actually learn to listen to classical music.

P.S. you don't have to explain what children's things these days are because I am one.
