Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Right, but we're not talking about Dota players in particular. Sorry if the tangent was my fault. It's more about human nature, and I'm sure we're all capable of acting in a condescending manner. Power corrupts.

Actually, I honestly find that strategy gamers tend to be a bit more snobby (no offense. I'm talking about myself too.) than other gamers. We look down on people who would choose to play CoD (God forbid) or Dota (the horror) instead of a game that requires patience and deep thought.
There was a really good podcast that I listened to a while back about competitive Diplomacy (I wish I could remember where I found it) but the speaker basically said that his experience with the game was miserable, not because of the game, but because of the people playing it.
It's just a little naive to think that this problem exclusive to the Dota crowd or the hip hop generation. It's a human problem.

  • I think he's saying one of the functions of the committee would be to keep a "do not let join" list for no-shows and I would assume auto-resigners.

  • Wouldn't that make it turm into a police department?

Doing research on a player for your own tournament is one thing, but putting a blacklist here on the forums is another.

Someone wanted to create a 'backstabber list' and that wasn't as popular either.

  • Now that I understand it, I still think it could be used by hosts to predict how many reserves they might need
