Yeah, I tried to limit the guide to just player types that are useful to know before you actually get to know the player. The reason I didn't put the orca, kraken, etc. into the guide is for exactly what you said: players tend to develop into those roles later in the game. But it's difficult to be a kraken in the early game, when you're the same size as everyone else. The player types are geared more toward attitudes, and not specific tactical decisions. In fact, I avoided specifics as much as possible, since each player and game is very different.

Roadkiehl, this guide is BRILLIANT. It should be added to the wiki.

I would make one addition:

The 'Kiehler' Whale:
Involves three kings and a LOT of destruction. Awesome.

A new type is here! I'm sure everyone has seen one of these. Meet:
15. The King Mackerel
Could also be spelled "King Maker-el." This player subscribes to the ideas that the king is the best specialist in the game and that redundancy is a good thing. While easy to confuse with the Shark, there is an important distinction: the King Mackerel's strategy is simple. "Smash."
How to Spot: First hire is a hypnotist. Second hire is a promotion. Third hire is a hypnotist... And so forth.
Favorite Specialist: Um...
Mining Tendency: It happens. Sometimes.
Diplomatic Style: Friendly enough until they get a king. Then it gets real.
Friend: Kings
Foe: A hire without a hypnotist

Love the king mackerel idea... Yes! Funny and true.

Found this story: we NEED a profile for this new NINJA LANTERN SHARK. No jokes: the internet doesn't lie. :p

I figure a ninja lantern shark is a Shark who takes advantage of supposed peaceful opening negotiations to attack you immediately.

Another one from me
The Box Jellyfish
A conditional player type, a box jelly may play the whole game as another type but when the shit hits the fan they transform into the deadly box jelly. When under attack box jellyfish rapidly consolidate forces into one uber sub and proceed to float around lashing out at any player in their path. Don't let its small size fool you the box jellyfish has a deadly sting. Some of the other sea creatures may form symbiotic relationships with these diminutive but destructive predators.
How to spot: hard to spot the box jelly until it is fully formed- early signs are heavy retreat and consolidation when under attack
Favorite specialist: navigator
Mining tendency: none, may attack and hold other mines
Diplomatic tendencies: if locked in one one target the box jelly may reach out to the targets enemies to land
Friend: the piranha
Foe: the shark

Here's a new one for ya:

The Marine
Wait, this one doesn't seem to belong. What is he even doing here? All he ever talks about is CoD, and he's launching subs at everyone. Oh, and the leetspeak and trashtalking in the public chat? Who even is this guy? At least you don't have to bear it long, since he autoresigns after the third day.
How to Spot: Oh, you'll know
Favorite Specialist: The Lieutenant. 'Cuz he probably carries a gun, unlike all these other wimpy specialists.
Mining Tendency: You can drill mines? Why would I want to do that?
Diplomatic Style: There's diplomacy in this game? Why would I want that?
Friend: 360 noscope
"Get Rekt Scrub. MLG PRO SUBMARINE TRYHARD EVERY DAY, RANDY" (Side note: does anyone actually know what those words mean?)

Foe: Thinking
"Come at me, m8. Get on ma lvl. 1v1 me, bro."

Genuinely laughed at this.
You should a funny profile on the people that use each different specialist or the specialists themselves
