so im playing and i make a mine in the first couple moves in the game. next thing i know, almost everyone is going after me. later i figure out that this dude "Dazzle" started the riot (DISCLAIMER: im not 100% sure it was him/her, but my resources tell me so). anyway, i try and ask him to make a confirmation. i spammed him with multiple messages (i dont think any were rude except for maybe for the poop emoji), which probably wasn't the best idea but i only was trying to get his attention. so when i finally gor his attention, we had some conversations, said some things, and some of the things he said to me we pretty rude.

so i want to know, should he be reported? should i be reported? was he in the wrong and i wasnt? was i in the wrong in he wasnt? im pretty sure we are both in the wrong. but please help me out on this. i also have the conversations screenshotted. although i have to defend myself in which i didnt know the was a rule against havihg allies from different. one player and i happend to be in the next game together and we decided to pair up again. does that count in rulebreaking?

Idk, man. I respect that you put the situation out there, unbiased (or at least, didn't hide anything).
I, personally, think the reason that the devs have the "notes" system in the game is so that, if a player carries himself honorably with you, then they get rewarded by a positive "review" in that person's notes. It's a meta game thing. I'm fine with coming in second to my ally, not only because I like being a good ally, but also because I have a reputation to uphold. I don't think it's wrong to say to yourself, "That guy was a good ally with me before. Maybe he'll do the same this game."

Your "conversation" with your opponent, on the other hand, is a bit less honorable.
Again, I respect that you put this out there, without any guile, as far as I can tell.
Without going into the code of conduct (someone else could probably give you a better answer than me), I just want to tell you a bit of my philosophy on dealing with people, difficult or not, in a game like this.
I try to always be friendly, I never insult someone, and I avoid crass language as a rule. This game is cutthroat, but I don't have to stoop to the level of public complaints and personal attacks. I always remind myself that it's just a game, just politics. Even the most cold-hearted betrayal is nothing more than blips on a screen.

While this is a game of lies, I make sure to remember that there is a person on the other side of my screen, so even when I am the one doing the betraying, I make sure that it's not personal, to the best of my ability. I normally send a note, saying something like, "Hey, it's too bad we couldn't have stayed allies this game. I look forward to the challenge of fighting you!"

It's just a game. But it's a game of people. Always remember that.

At first: Of course you make yourself a target for everyone else if you build a mine early in the game.

If you start a conversation with a player and he doesn't respond he maybe just don't want to talk to you. Spamming him with messages isn't really a good behavior, and sending him this emoji just makes things even worse.

I can't tell if you should report him, I don't know what he wrote. If you feel offended report him and let the devs decide if he broke the rules. But if someone would spam me with messages and poop emojis I would get pissed too.

There is a rule that forbids forging alliances before joining a game. If you are in a game with someone you played with before, there is no rule that forbids you to ally again. If there were such a rule, no one could make alliances after a couple of games. Just don't be too sure that he doesn't betray you just because he didn't the last time.

i understand what you're saying and i appreciate your intel. now that ive thought about it, i think i was being a little rude. i didnt mean the poop emoji as an insult, i meant it as a funny joke thing. while i may have been in the wrong about the spamming, he did say that "he didnt think i could read at all", which i think is pretty mean. i also believe i may have taken things a little bit too personal. probably because im a female, and a woman's feeling are kinda comlicated

I guess that's often a problem. It seems that many players take the game too personal. I think many players don't know what this game is really about. The strategy is just a part of it. It's more about relations between the players. It's about forging and breaking alliances. The most people that betray you or team up against you don't do this because they dislike you personal but because they benefit from it. That's part of the game.

Yeah, and I also want to point out that the person who keeps their cool the longest often wins. It's in your best interest to keep a level head and your emotions out of it.
