Subs having radar

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Just an idea and the only reason I came up with it is Bc in the game in currently in have no outposts. I'm currently running from my previously taken outpost to one I am trying to take and I can't see ANYTHING. I think subs should have some kind of radar so I can see something. Also subs in real life have radar so I think as they get farther away from your radar limit they could show more of the map. Just a thought for future reference .

  • If they did it would just encourage sub-spam for Intel. Everyone and his dog would send out huge numbers of 1 driller subs to ensure they could always see everything. The current "fog of war" actively discourages the long distance attack into the dark" and encourages deception and diplomacy.

Whilst I sympathise with your plight if you did have radar on that sub - all your probably going to see is a heavily fortified destination rapidly approaching.....

  • I would exploit this with a navigator, pirate and thief or something. You can then go around terrorizing the enemy base.

  • A specialist who puts out a small sonar radius when on a sub might be a good way around this.

Maybe the queen. If your last outpost is taken, you could still see a small radius around you. And it would be a huge risk to send your queen out to get a view of something.

While that might be cool, I don't think it's a problem that the player with no outposts can't see anything. If you have a queen with a navigator, and you don't know where it's safe to land, you'll just have to rely on another to help you out, or a bit of luck.

  • What if the sonar range was proportional to the number of drillers aboard? Anything less than 5 gets no sight, 5-10 gets 5% base sonar range, 10-15 gets 10% base sonar range, etc.

    This is cool.

Also a Scout specialist (2x) would be good as someone mentioned before.

This. The other suggestions would make Pirate/Martyr more devastating than it already is.
