Tale of Two Kings: The Duke

I am no veteran at this game, but I came across something that was mind numbingly difficult for me to counter.

In a match, I stole a Tycoon that a Resigny was about to gift to a bordering opponent using a nearby Pirate. He declared he was going to eventually have two kings and I best prepare for war or give the tycoon back.
I tried to rally people up against him, but it seemed we needed the commitment of every one if we were to beat him down. A few on his border allied with him to ride on his back to a silver and bronze, and needless to say I was pummeled to death- with ever 3 drillers accumulating to 5, 30 to 50 and 90 to 145 and so on. I felt helpless.

I realize this is very circumstantial, and I probably lacked the skill or right specialist to counter him, but what do you think about this?
The king sacrifices the shields for a large damage boost, but a second king sacrifices nearly nothing for an identical damage boost.
Should there only be able one King, similar to a Queen?
I have some Ideas for a secondary class, that a hypnotist could upgrade into instead of a King-
Duke
Local: For every 3 (2?4?) drillers owned locally after specialist phase destroy 1 enemy driller in combat.
+10 Maximum Shield Charge
(looking for something that more on the front lines and more vulnerable but doesnt become totally different from a king)

I believe this "problem" was tossed around a lot a while back.
I feel like you got royally screwed over (pun intended) in that match, but it was more because two other people allied against you than because of the kings. Keep in mind: 2 kings = 4 hires. That's a lot. Sure it's powerful. But the same goes for double engis, double admirals, double sec chiefs, etc.

Wait would double admiral stack?

You must have meant double general

Admiral does stack.
I was allied with another alongside the King holders border, and we both got steam rolled. I tried a general diplomat to try and wittle his forces away, but this was quickly countered by posting an assassin at the bottleneck I was holdng him at.
I just feel that other top tier specialist has some counterplay.
double Generals have assasins
Security Dudes have infiltrators
If you want to exploit double engineers you can put them on the frontlines and put them in danger, or pick your battles using a pirate.

Perhaps i'm just salty and wondering why it takes two kings and a Queen to rule one kingdom?
Was this just the perfect storm to ruin me. Do I just have to pray for a assasin navigator helmsman and go fishing for one of them?

I feel that the king makes you vulnerable in exchange for a power spike, but a second king doesn't make you less vulnerable, in fact it boisters your defenses if you have any men there.

From the wiki post on the King...
And by the way, is anyone else a little suspicious that the court Hypnotist is the one that marries the Queen and becomes King? Imagine becoming the King by hypnotizing the Queen only to hire a new court Hypnotist. Flavor wise, that is a really terrible plan.

I guess this is why I liked the idea of a second hypnotist becoming a lower form of nobility ya know?

Maybe like when you get a new Queen she turns into a princess, a second King should turn into a prince.
A prince would automatically turn into a King if the current King dies, as well as provide a 0.5 Speed factor boost when targeting enemy outposts.
