[Feature Request] Leaderboards and Factions

Okay, so as I was pondering one day I noticed that the leaderboard is fairly hard to access, it's outside of the app itself and isn't interactive.
So for the first idea, I think the leaderboard should be in-game and provide basic stats on the players on it.
Also, what if we had leagues in subterfuge? So certain ratings got you a higher league? What if higher leagues received graphical bonuses such as different shapes for subs and the like...Just food for thought.
Onto the major idea, Subterfuge Factions!
Basically a Faction would be a group of players and their stats would be combined, adding their medals together to accumulate a Faction score.
There would a separate leaderboard for Factions and, naturally, there would be an in-game chat feature within your Faction.
Seeming as you can't talk to people without being in a game with them, but you also can't have multi-game agreements, there is no real way of maintaining constant communication with a friend.
Just a few Faction features:
Group chat with your Faction
Ability to share screenshots of situations with your Faction so they can give advice
Maybe a feature to make tactical puzzles with your Faction
Faction games within the Faction
With regards to in Faction game, there are a few balancing issues:
Factions could match-make and stack medals.
They could help each other in games.
They could give screenshots of the other side of the map.
To counter these problems, there would be a few rules with Factions:
You cannot join a game that contains another Faction member.
Faction games cannot contain any outsiders.
Faction games do not earn any medals.
Seeming as you earn no medals, Faction games don't count as games so even L1 players can play other games while in a Faction game.
I'm open to suggestions and criticism and I think this could be a great addition.
Could add a new dimension to the game, getting placed in a game with a rival Faction and such.
Please comment suggestions and thanks for reading!
EDIT: Changed the name to Factions, although the name isn’t too important.

Firstly, I agree that the leaderboard should be in game. (in fact I also think it would be good to have the rules in game, as well as FAQ)
About the guilds, I'm not too sure if the name is suitable
Guild:
A guild is an association of artisans or merchants who control the practice of their craft in a particular town. (wikipedia)
I would call it maybe a clan (a bit cliche though) or a group (a bit too boring) or maybe something related to Subterfuge or Neptunium such as workforce. Since the goal of each game is to acquire 200 kilos of Neptunium there could be arranged groups which could be called workforces. In fact, lets just call them that for now.
However I'm not too sure if not allowing the participation of two or more people from the same workforce to be in the same game is really a good idea. The only way I see this working is if the workforces themselves could create games which were fought against other workforces, and the number of players from each workforce was the same, so like they could create games of e.g.
2 workforces, each with 4 players
3 workforces, each with 3 players
5 workforces, each with 2 players
and so on...

Great suggestion blanc, this will both prevent multi game deals for people who are friends (if they're in the same guild they can't play together against strangers) and allow multi game deals (in the controlled environment of in-guild battles and the between-guild battles tw2000 mentioned).
People who play the game a lot and know some other players from the forums, can prevent moral dilemmas / loyalty problems this way.
Guilds will also cover the feature request of a chatbox outside specific games.
The combining of stats by adding medals of the member players is also spot on.
As for naming, Guilds is a commonly used name so I'd be fine with it, maybe it could be combined with choosing a Specialist as your guild avatar/totem to link it to a specific craft. I like Clan better than Workforce, in this game I wanna be a bit more than a Workforce. Makes me feel like I'm being suppressed by some higher far-away power. The name 'Factions' could work as well.
As for leadership/council/board, I think everyone (including L1) could apply but only people with a good rating (above 1200, therefore L2 players) should vote to prevent trolling. Or if you want to make a bigger incentive to get L2, only paying members can be on the council, or even join the guild. Guilds won't give in-game benefits so they might even be 100% behind the paywall to give people more reason to upgrade.

I went up and searched for some synonyms. Here's what I found (I picked the appropriate ones)
group, sector, division, faction, circle, guild, union, clan, league, alliance, coalition, fellowship, club, federation, association....
only just scratched the surface though...I'm sure there are more...

first i had the same issue with this topic. but i post it in question section. it had pool for vote too there.
second i really like the game has light apps on my phone. it just like under 60 Mb. and can be part to my sd card witch is make it less consume my internal memory by under 30 Mb. so new feature like leaderboard surely add more space and continues update. but i still ok with that. cause i have game that size more than 700 mb in my phone. but another big game and consuming ? if it good enough why not.
as i read at forum. this dev not ready yet for massive new feature update. but for idea, i like it can be grow to some thing better than now.
and i belive someone who i not remember his name. will gather this new feature at new section like new feature forum. so dev can response to this later in future.
i had pre-solution on this topic about clan. we can change name by add tag like [NFL]. it would be simple but later the dev can reserve the special room about this section into the game. *thanks to pandasecret about this idea he told me.
and prefer the name who has theme subterfuge it self. like legion ?

Yeah this would be cool, organised team battles

I would support clans/factions in Subterfuge!
As mentioned before, this would make a great way to get friend groups to set up games easily without keeping outsiders confused when trying to set up a game.
Of course, some faction wars may heat up the forums, but I'm all for this idea!
Also, the addition of clan tags before the username both In-Game as well as on the forums would be cool.

Yeah clan tags would be so cool, players would be representing their clan in every game! It would also add a whole new element of strategy...If you noticed the guy in you game is in a clan that only needs one more medal to pull ahead of your own in the rankings, you might not be so willing to help them.
Think about the new level of diplomacy that clans could add!

I like this idea, because it would bring the community together. To add on to the team games, maybe they could make faction vs faction games. The one thing they need to post is a clear definition of how the ranking work, because there is some uncertainty over that. Even faction tournaments some day? We will have to see what Ron and Noel think of this idea. I am all for this, because it would increase app downloads and make more people buy lvl 2. The goal is to increase player activity. This would help excite people

There's also another idea. Its to randomly assign people to one of X groups, predetermined by the Devs. You can't changed from your group and so you and the rest of your group (maybe about 1500-2500 players in each) have to try and dominate the leaderboards.
