Specialist idea: fleet commander and disruptor

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • It has been awhile since I have seen any specialists ideas so I am going to change that. Here are a few ideas that I have at the moment.

    Fleet commander

    All subs within this subs range (similar to a martyr) get +300% speed.

    Disruptor

    All subs within this subs range (similar to a martyr) get -200% speed

    What do you think of these? Useful? Gimicky? Overpowered? Underpowered? Any other thoughts?

  • Fleet commander feels OP. In friendly territory, it's a basically a smuggler but without having to move it, ideal for quickly shuttling drillers and specs around. Also, This would be insanely OP when combined with other speed classes, as it adds 300% instead of setting it. So smuggler would get a 600% speed boost when in range!

    Disruptor doesn't feel useful; it would be too difficult to reinforce an outpost with a Disruptor, and people would end up gifting it to enemies to slow them down instead of using it defensively. I wouldn't use a Disruptor to be honest.

    I guess my question would be this- does he move at mock speed 3X?
    If he does than OP- Smuggler is very strong due to 3X speed- imagine if used offensively!

    But if not...Here are the two ways I think of using him
    -General purpose- Use him as a nexus at the center of your base that you send reinforcements through to offending bases, kind of a back lines type ghetto smuggler.

    -Da Slingshot-Send your Fleet commander out first, setting out an aura ahead of your outpost towards an opposing one. Then after the fleet commander has gone a distance, Send your Fleet through the aura at break neck speed. Pair with a helsman to allow the buff to last longer- and martyr/assasins/ Offensive units

    It'd take some setting up and might only be useful at short range ( depending on his range-I envision it to be between a sentry and a martyr)

    Disruptor- instead of X-200 percent I might say X.5 (half the subs speed?)
    -Fish in a Barrel- Pair the Disruptor with a Sentry(princess not included) to allow him to get more shots on an enemy
    -Slowmo Grenade- Throw the Disruptor at an opposing force to slow it down just enough for you to get reinforcements there. Pair with a Diplomat and a General

    I'm assuming the fleet commander applies his buff to allies only and that the disruptor applies his debuff to enemies.
