[suggestion] Turn screen shots/recording off during game

I have found that people in the game are asking for ways to share screen shots or videos online. They use these to share intel or coordinate maneuvers. I think this breaks the game mechanics, and eliminates the level of trust you have to have that your neighbors/allies are giving you accurate intel.

I would suggest tuning off video screen recording until after the game is completed. Also, if there is a way, turn off the feature that allows photo screenshots until after the game is over. Personally, I feel the choice shouldn't be optional but an argument could be made for making it an optional setting. I have yet to experience a game where people sharing screen shots or recordings have broken the game, but I thought this would be an interesting subject to bring up.

Now I am all for sharing videos after the game is completed. I love watching how other people play the game. I am only referring to video and photo recording during a current game session.

What do you think? Do you share the same options or are you all for sharing screenshots? Should we trust players to not share screenshots or do you have another solution? Does it even matter?

I like to hear your thought :)

If people are gonna cheat, they can use their digital camera to take a picture of their phone screen. You can't prevent it in the end... But I agree that it's not desireable.

You might want to read this topic where there was some discussion about the topic:

You could always use Photoshop to send your allies or enemies misleading screenshots. Just add some drillers to someones bases, or some Assassins. Whatever helps your cause.

I don't think they should, this is something that is going to hinder the streamers and others more then its going to hurt the cheaters. Maybe if it became enough of a problem then the DEV's should do something, but out right blocking it isnt the answer.

Maybe make swapping screen shots game supported but add in an editor that could change it however you want so you can still give false info.

I'm very much with the in-game information sharing with the option to fake it, but it's really trivial.

How do you stream a 288 hour game?

I suppose streaming was the wrong word, recording would have been better. Like that one game in the blogs

You can't stop this sort of thing. It is flat out impossible, nor would I want an app with that sort of power.

I see nothing wrong with this. It is he exact same thing as saying to an ally in chat "watch out he is sending X to X." If they want the info that badly then all power to them. And besides, if you claim your allies are sending them pictures then you may want to choose better allies ;)

All's fair in love and war.
