Halt production

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I can lower shields at an outpost but I want to halt production so that I can stop wasting my output in the back of my empire and focus on growth at the front lines.

    Seems like a needed adjustment.

  • Can't be done, sorry.

  • What do you mean it can't be done. Do you mean it can't be coded into the game in an update? Because that's what I want. It makes tactical sense.

I think the alpha version of the game had experimented with that, but the Devs decided to take it out because it unbalanced the game. Not all rational things make the game better, and the Devs have already tried do it, and decided that it didn't make the game better

  • If you have this problem then so do your opponents. Just move your troops to the frontline faster or smarter than they do

There was a thread on this somewhere, but I don't have the time or patience to go find it :P

  • There are ways to get rid of those drills. You could gift them to the nearest ally, dump them at the nearest enemy, or pile them together into a mine.

The gifts are especially effective if your ally has a cap problem, because you can gift over the top of the cap.

  • While annoying, I feel that this problem helps to balance the game. If you have so much territory that shutting off outposts is worth losing the drillers, you're probably winning.

  • While not frequently used, you can also let an ally take over that factory in the back for a while. Doesn't change your driller cap, but all those drillers will be produced closer to your frontline. You gotta trust that you'll be handed the outpost back though...

  • You can get your ally to send 1 sub at your factories when you're approaching the cap and you can gift accordingly.
