This is the l1 alternative for those who will not be able to participate in topkilla's tournament. It will be largely the same format with 2 rounds except, since we are all l1, there will only be one game at a time. All games are played in mining mode.

First round starts March 1st
Second round starts March 15th

This is single-elimination with the top players from each game advancing. Since this is an l1 tournament I expect it to be a little smaller, so I'll decide how many from each game advance after I see how much interest there is.

I will make an exception for a few l2 tournament hosts to get our games started, because l1's cannot create private games. If there is not enough interest for l1's, I'll open it to some more l2's but l1's will have priority in the case of conflict. AlsoNEW FOR L2's I'd like to offer a prize for the l2 player, who recruits the most l1's from their own games into the tournament, but I have no idea what the prize should be. Suggestions for the prize can be commented in this topic and I'll pick a well liked one or one I find most helpful. If you'd like to start recruiting right away, make sure the l1 player uses your username as a code when joining. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A HOST TO CONTRIBUTE OR TO WIN THE PRIZE.
make sure you post your clearance level, so I know if you're a host or just a regular player.

Private games don't count towards stats so I could host all games and in each game fall back to a single base.

To prevent advantages to this I would recommend:

1) All players don't attack the host (who stays on orginal bases)

2) Host functions to defend only


Personally I would elect to keep 5 original bases and hire as many princesses and it officers as possible

I had 2 princesses and 1 intelligence officer on a 10-player map and could nearly see the entire map. I think if an 8-player map is smaller then you could see the whole thing that way?

I had planned for them to be active players, so it could be fun for them to instead of having to retreat back to one base. I don't really see your extra orders as a huge thing that's unfair because l1's can simply watch an add to get unlimited scheduled orders for 2 hours.
