Specialist Idea "Prince"

Possible promotion hire for Hypnotist if there is already a King, otherwise a standalone "other" specialist.
Local: If a friendly specialist comes within range of the Prince, an option to demote them becomes available. The Prince has a range of 66% of a base outpost.
Global: Converts captured Princesses to your side. (If current King dies, closest Prince turns into King.)

Tell me what you guys think. The main part is the demoting ability, which may reduce some strategy, but I think could be great for tactical surprise maneuvers, like getting a navigator again, demoting war hero to sentry when you get a princess, or demoting King to Hypnotist after surviving an onslaught of enemy specialists. The converting princesses part can be removed or exchanged.

Demoting specialists could be amazing.
But I would Probably get one King and one Prince and then stack up hires, every time I get attacked i spend one hire to demote King, then re-promote when I'm on the offensive...

Either way this, like all strategies, is risky.
I think this would fit quite well into the game and is surely needed since the King's negative effect doesn't stack

I feel like the prince is too weak though. Maybe give every 2 demotes a promote? Then the prince would be powerful, however very costly, as you'd have to spend at least 4 hires to get him

I don't think so? Using a demote instead of a promote puts you behind in your hires so you have to choose if you want to sacrifice a promote or hire for a demote. It definitely puts you behind but if you know what you're doing it can be worth it. (Demote king to hypno, convert some specialists, promote back next hire). How does it cost 4 hires??

The four hire cost is to get a prince, because first you need hypno then king; followed by hypno then prince. So the act of acquiring the prince is what takes 4 hires.

Ahhhhhh I see what you mean. Well even for 4 hires, having a backup king can never be a bad thing :p and allows for some tricky combos, demoting security cheif to inspector for max shield, tycoon back to smuggler and run. I like the concept

Wait, so now it costs promotions to demote? That makes the prince even more useless. Not only do you have to spend 4 hires getting to him, you are also set back by 2 hires every time you demote something. (1 hire wasted on hire/promote and 1 used for demote)

No hires will be wasted on demote. The prince can demote as much as he like, otherwise as you have mentioned that would be a massive disadvantage.

Love the idea of a specialist that can demote others, and preventing a king from stacking.
