Spoiling Anonymity - Online Status

I'm curious if anyone has managed to discern, as I have, who some of their competitors are by pulling up past/current games and comparing online times.
If the objective is anonymity, perhaps the online status might need to be thought out a bit for past games or even provide an option to make that anonymous too, for all games?

As has been stated in other threads, the online notification could be changed to only show if you are currently in that specific game. That would solve this problem.

You can also match players by rating. I think it should only give clearance level. I agree in that you should not know if another player is online. The point of anonymous is mystery.

I think the Online indicator is too critical to the communication process to exclude it for the sake of anonymity. Many of my best conversations occur when I see someone is online at the same time as me, and can have a live chat rather than an asynchronous type thing happen.

I have to admit, it is useful for a number of reasons however, the point of joining an anonymous game is lost when one's anonymity is not assured.
