Possible Other Game Modes

Hi guys! The game is great. I've been playing rounds with a group of friends who are the board game crowd with some online playing.

I was thinking that one of the ways to get more playability is to add a few more variations.

For example, anonymity is pretty cool but it would be nice to also have an option that is permanently "in the fog". Games that let you play with some of the specialists variables seem somewhat "easy" (don't you love when people say that?) to implement. Being able to adjust sonar range up and down etc.

The other thing that would be a big plus is an overall game time slider. So you can start a game at 2x, 3x, 10x speed etc.

This way, groups of consistent players can find the variables and amount of time per game by trial and error as well as the suggested defaults. If the average game takes 2 weeks... Every distance 2x as fast now makes it much shorter.

Anyways, just some thoughts. It's pretty awesome and addicting.

Thanks!

One more thought... Being able to control map size and number of bases could add a lot of variation. Right now it's set for close proximity for this type of play. But more bases further apart, tight clusters with separation etc could all lead to interesting games like having to actually find each other. And you still have the pluses of things like mining giving away a position because it's such a big deal.
