Quick question re. dev intervention in games

Hi

Just a quick one. I'm in a game which has been running for about 2 days- it's early on, no-one has really branched out too far.

Out of the blue, a neighbour accuses me of being another colour also (multi boxing), and is quite rude about it. The word c**t is used, which is out of order frankly, I could be a young player. Bear in mind I am still being decent to him and not provoking him. Anyway, he goes on and on, to the point where it spills into Public Chat, and everyone gets dragged into it. He is still messaging me directly, swearing and whatnot.

Before I spend a long time collating screenshots and submitting it, can anyone tell me if the report function is active and effective? I trust that it is, but with 7K players and not many on the dev team I was suspecting that maybe they are overwhelmed with the amount of submissions.

Many thanks!

The report function is literally just emailing the devs a picture of offensive text.

Its a genuine question to wonder if/how often the devs actually take action on stuff like this. As he pointed out in OP, 6k games is a lot for 2 people to moderate.

This happened to me a while back, and the devs took care of it the same day.

I believe Roadkiehl recently mentioned that he also reported someone cheating, once in his entire Subterfuge career, and that it was taken care of very quickly.

Also, one of the devs occasionaly posted (it's been a few weeks) some anonimized screenshots of emails that got ridiculous. Dealing with cheaters isn't fun, but the devs know how to handle it.

It's also the only way to have them get an official warning or account block. What you can do in-game, hopefully, is get an alliance against that person. If he gets too annoying, people will want to join you just to shut him up.
