End a Game in Peace option

Currently involved in a game where me and three others are in an extremely tight-knit alliance, and we've banded together since the beginning of the game. However, after eliminating the other 6 competitors and absolutely no mining begun, we decided to let the game go on forever, instead of killing each other or trying to outmine the other. It would be extremely cool if developers could create a peaceful ending option that is available when there's 4 or less people still remaining. The option could be voted by the players. After all, it's not always about killing each other off and betraying each other, but it's also about diplomacy and loyalty.

I mean, the peaceful alternative *is* mining. But I get what you're saying: a group win could be a good option.

And just use current standings as final places? I feel sorry for whoever ends 4th...

For the game to go on forever would you all not need to check in often so that no one auto-resigns?
This would be sort of like a stalemate or draw in chess. I think it would work if no one received a medal because a draw occurred.

I'd like to see a "vote for draw" option - when all players click and confirm it, the game ends in a draw and all players receive the lowest possible medal (so in OP's case all get bronze). However, I would not want to see this in rated games, as that would mess up rating calculations.

But then what's to stop four friends from making a 4 player game, and all voting for peace. They would all get gold. And they could end up spamming it to get infinite gold medals...

Would it be possible to just have everybody eliminated at the same time? Say there are only two people left and you didn't want to fight for who gets first. What would happen if you sent a sub with only your queen and on its way it ran into the other person's sub that only had their queen on it. Since it would be a simultaneous elimination, what happens? Would they both win? Would they both lose? This might be your closest chance of having a draw.

Actually it wouldn't mess up rating calculations, if you've read how rating is calculated, you could simply set up the same win/loss for everyone pair of players except between the people who drew, and for those you would count them as a 'draw', which happens in ches all the time...

You could get everyone to send subs so that all the queens are in the blast radius for a martyr which gets targeted...

I was trying to think of a way that more than two people could get out at the same time and I think you discovered it!
The real thing to do is make the agreement with everyone to all be eliminated but have a princess hidden outside of everyone's view range and allowing you to win.
