Support (Ron/Noel, please read)

I have concern that as the devs move on to new projects, keeping up with account support and abuse reports might start to falter. I'm not laying any blame or guilt about this, I understand the realities of business and the limitations of time.

If this is wrong, and the devs have no issue keeping up with support, then maybe just keep this offer in your back pocket for later if things change.

If this is right, please give someone(s) access to the support tools. This way the game can continue to be supported without depending directly on the devs to indefinitely spend time on a project that hasn't generated profit.

note: this is not a request for the source code or to be able to release fan made updates, as others have requested. I don't think that's a good idea. This is specifically asking that some trusted person(s) be given access only to what they need to respond to abuse reports and account problems, nothing more.

This would be a good idea, however it would raise a few problems. Who would be chosen? What if we can't trust them? What if they go AWOL like our devs are (that is, if the devs ar actually AWOL)? But I think this could be helpful. Also: how much priority is given to moderators (guys with green names, like Stefan and Champinoman)? Could we potentially promote a few loyal and trustworthy players to that level and let them handle things?

Ouch! I've just (past hour or so) bought L2, so this thread is worrying.

I found this game because the Apple Store were pushing it a few weeks ago, so I'm hoping the developers are still interested.

If they have lost interest, then yes, I hope they pass the code to a small group of interested supporters/developers. Passing the source code into the public domain would worry me, I've seen too many games ruined by multiple development forks.

I had thought getting more active moderators would be nice, because there doesn't seem to be that many and the ones there are don't seem to log on very much. Don't quote me on this, but the tdt ended and I don't think it was ever unstickied. I think we need a few more people to keep the forums nice.

It's still the best game on a mobile device, so your purchase was worthwhile.

Also I could be wrong, but I think most problems with multiboxers and other ban-worthy players are L1s, because they are more willing to risk a free account than a 10$ one.

I'm sure the devs can find someone they trust. Either someone they know personally, forum mod(s), or even trusted player(s). And if they go AWOL, hopefully they at least can pass the support torch to some other trusted person, the same way I'm asking for now. And as a failsafe, I hope that while the devs might be working on other things, they will still at least have this game on their radar, and notice something as serious as their support staff having gone totally missing.

Moderation has always been light on these forums, I think overall for the best (I've only ever seen 1 thread locked). You are right about the stickies though, I do wish there was a little more maintenance there.

Hey everyone, if you want to support the developers, BUY SOME PATRON MEDALS.

Even L1 players can manage this.

Ron and Noel haven't been on since the end of January. I fear we may be left alone here
