I'm starting a new forum game. It's an 8-10 player casual domination game with balanced outposts and a no specialists custom rule. Open to both L1 and L2 first come first serve. Just ask to join and I'll put you on the list. When it fills up I'll make a private game and invite everyone. I really hope nobody breaks the no specialist rule.

No. No. No. No. No. You do not know what you are getting into. This could be bass1919 and darkrouge all over again.......

Although, I guess forum regulars would be better with following the rules. If you do make it, make sure it's only forum goes who are in the game. No public people

I don't like the idea of having no specialists rule in a domination game. Domination lasts a lot longer and the one thing which makes it enjoyable in my opinion is the diverse specialist combos (or in some situations, like most of the situations, specialist stacking). If you have no specialists, everyone would be almost equal in terms of power, and everyone would gang up on the guy at the top who cannot defend himself, and the game would last forever.
Edit: Of course someone might emerge as the victor through diplomacy (which I honestly do not see as likely), but I do not honestly think that can be done without some backstabs in the process, and the game atmosphere can be tedious and "unbearable" for some players.

I'd like to hear the story you're talking about. Ill try to let only forum regulars play, if not I'll change the no spec rule.

Unless you can find allies. And then someone gets backstabbed, rages... You get the point. Anyway. In the game I played, I had good allies from previous games (aclonicy and nojo) so we were able to finish the game quickly enough. I think that allies will form, and people just won't get shot down cause they have friend. Although, i do think mining would be better

Ugh. The story again. I'll let aclonicy tell it, he gets a bit more dramatic and mad

I'm not a huge fan of mining, it makes the game a lot more complicated for me. I'd rather play a domination game.

While I was editing my message 4 new messages have arrived. Wow.

There we go.

If you made it a private game for approved forum members (via comments) only, that could assure no cheating.
However, I agree with niverio in that specialists can turn the tide of war or make a situation from hopeless to possible.
In a game with no real surprise, specialists are needed as key units. Otherwise the game will quickly turn either into a bloodshed or a horrible mess of alliances.
