New game idea: Hide And Seek

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • After seeing that Korfballer is throwing his ideas out, I decided to throw out mine. Here it goes:

Hide And Seek: At the start of the game, a time end span will be determined by the players. I thought 10 days would be good. When the game begins, every player will be assigned a player based on map location, chosen by a moderator which will be a part of the game, but not playing it (most probably me).

Here is where it gets interesting. The goal is not to eliminate your target. The goal is to be able to see their Queen. If you can see their Queen even for a split second, you show your evidence as a screenshot via the forums to the moderator, you gain 1 point (this information is not shared to the other players), and the moderator assigns you a different target. At the end of the pre-determined time span, the player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, outpost number and driller count will be considered as tie breakers.

Rules: - Only one princess allowed per base. (And only one Intel Officer)
    - There is no such thing as 'you can only target your assigned player'. Normal subterfuge, you can make alliances, betray people, and gank up on people!
    - You cannot tell anyone where anyone's queen is (yours included). You cannot give false information either.
    - No mining!

    Player List:

  • I understand the first assigned queen will be based on map position, but what about further assignments? Will they be randomized but still within your pool of neighbors?

Restricted to one princess/base, and one intelligence officer overall?

If a player is eliminated, do their points still count toward winning? Could you win even if you don't survive?

  • Yes menace, it will be random but you will never be given the player who is on the other side of the map.
Yes, only 1 princess PER outpost. Consequently, you can have more than 1 princess in total. But only 1 intel officer.
About eliminated players: I think a -2 penalty is good for those who are eliminated.
