I've been noticing it's hard to get a game going sometimes because people will join the game, not like their setup, then jump out.

If it's a really bad setup then no one will join as folks will immediately leave when they see the setup.

Would be nice to see random setup games where people don't see the map until the game starts. Would also let everyone start on an equal footing diplomatically.

I'm going to start a game called Random start, where it's set for 9 but I'll start it at 8 so the map is reshuffled. Feel free to join in.

You basically described anon mode. Nobody is allowed to see the map, and can't talk to other people, so no pre game advantages. Do you not want to play that mode simply so you can see people's usernames?

I joined a game today and I already had planned attacks. Go figure.

I haven't played anon in a while. Generally don't like it. I find people are by far more dickish in anon games and I really don't have a good time with it.

I have played 3 anon games total. First was a horrible experience, backstabbers left and right. Second time was okay. Third was the forumers anon game, that was some fun.

How about start like this (I'm on the bottom)?

I've had a similar start except I was the guy who's queen was vulnerable. The random generation can be terrible
