Abilities

o Global Effect: For every 3 drillers owned locally after the specialist Phase (but before combat damage), deduct one point from the enemy shield charge

o Local Effect: -30 Shield from enemy shield charge

o Promotes from: Infiltrator

In Game Text
o Drains 1 charge from enemy charge for every 3 drillers that remain after the specialist phase upon attacking an enemy outpost. An additional 30 charge is deducted the Head Raider is present.

Wow. So, a king against shields. Except it doesn't do much against kings. But still, it's a pretty good idea for a promotion of the infiltrator

makes shields functionally useless, as an attack of over 30 drillers (which happens quite often in the mid-game) would wipe out 10 shield.

nerf it and it's cool

Nerf it? Why's that? Maybe compare its power to another promoted specialist to make this case. Keep in mind that you need to hire a sub par specialist to acquire this specialist- much like the lieutenant to General.
Also your explanation needs to be delivered entirely in haiku form.

correction, a better idea would be to drop the local effect and just have this specialist reject the Infiltrator outright. my opinion.

Also, haikus can go to hell.

The king of shields. I feel like its fairly balanced, leaning towards to OP side. I like it.

So drop the local effect and ditch promoting it and make it a stand alone similar to a diplomat or a thief?

My only fear with this specialist is that a major counter against the king is shields. So if you have both this specialist and a king, your larger forces would make it out of every battle completely unscathed.

But there are many other different counters to the king that is still just as effective *cough* general *cough* and the fact that this requires 2 hires I think it is alright.


On the topic of a name, it should definitely be some name of a leader of people, sort of like how a king is a leader. It fits well with the idea of boosting all the drillers.

For some reason, I almost picture it like a mob boss. The Infiltrators flavor text has always be very sketchy sounding so it almost seems fitting for him to become a ruler of the underground or of some secret organization. Something like the godfather seems oddly fitting.
I dunno, that idea is really off the wall but I'm trying to get the creativity flowing for what to name it.
