Suggestion: Electrician & Hacker

Specialist Name: Electrician
Obtained through: Hire option from Queen
Description: Global: All factories produce 2 less driller per production cycle, but all of your outposts' shield charge increase by 1 per hour.
Splash Text: "Silver and gold, electricity's surf board to ride freely."

Specialist Name: Hacker
Obtained through: Promoting electrician
Description: Slows down all enemy sub(s) by 0.25x when they are within range. Hacker's range is half of its outpost's sonar range.
Splash Text: "Hello world."

Note from Scappie:
It is pretty straight forward, combined with a sentry and many other sonar-range increasing specialist would be very beneficial to the hacker. Not sure if I'd get a chance at this getting into the game because I heard a rumor that the developers were inactive and no longer working on the game.
(Splash text of Electrician is a reference to the Christmas song, Silver and Gold)
(Splash text of Hacker is a reference to the first typical line of code one writes when someone is learning a new programming language)


Todo: Maybe call it something else than a electrician, because people may get confused with the electrician vs tinkerer in terms of similar occupation in the real world.

These are both actually pretty awesome ideas. Only two tweaks: From what will be the electrician promoted? And secondly, it is too op, so I would actually reduce two drillers per factory honestly.

Just a minute detail, but shouldn't it be .5x speed and not 50% slower? Otherwise two hackers could stop incoming subs.

While a "slow subs around posted outpost" specialists idea has been tossed around before but excellent specialist idea nontheless- I really like your Electricians Idea- Though I may be misunderstanding it- Does the electrician recharge your shields faster or does it slowly increase your shield capacity to infinity?

I get the hacker but is the electricians ability limited by sheild cap or does it get as high as it wants? If the cap is still is effect, it sucks. If not, it still sucks, but not as bad.

Not to get confused with shield capacity-This upgrades the shield charge rate, meaning your shields will reach maximum capacity faster.

I like the idea of potentially being able to stop a sub.

But, I see how that can possibly be OP. Maybe the Hacker could be limited to slowing down the subs .5. An additional Hacker would cause sonar issues.

Or, the alternative to slowing down subs. Would be the false sonar readings. As in, all outpost within range of sonar not being able to tell what's going on. Have random subs showing all over or just a fuzz.
