Kings are not OP

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • The 'least favourite' crown came down to three mistakes on my part and your behaviour Colonel:
My own mistake with my kings and queen
Gifting topkilla back his admiral was another
Not killing 2 players that you then milked for specs.

Your gameplay of pathological lying is a legitimate tactic but unpleasant on the receiving end. I wish there was some way to mute the chat box. I really really wanted you to stop talking to me. It reminded me of being on my own on a train late at night with someone giving me unwanted attention. I'm sorry but I hated it and felt uncomfortable. I seem to remember I told you this but you continued. :(

I was frustrated when the tide turned game wise and you were clearly destroying me because I ballsed up. But it was fair cop, despite the turtles feeding you. You were better and I lacked experience. It was the way you then eliminated everyone despite it being a mining game and continued to send gloaty messages that sealed the deal of my opinion of you. I guess the downside of elimination victories and sending unwanted messages is having to turn to youtube in order to share the glory with someone

  • I think I was trying to just reiterate that what I'm doing was just my play style & what I'd do to win. Others are a lot more co-operative & willing to let an ally win. We hadn't REALLY done anything in the game together... hadn't attacked the same player, hadn't gifted things.. you were obviously doing things with Radliay that I was not aware of. And there was no personal ill intent at that point.

If you remember, when Radliay quit in the middle of the game for no reason they gifted you two kings (you had gifted them a hypno earlier), a tinkerer, infiltrator, a bunch of drillers and dropped shields to a bunch of nearby outposts. TopKilla also gifted you an admiral for a while.

I had received no specialist gifts at this point... I got a smuggler, admiral, nav & king later on in the game from pink & red... and a few random useless specs right at the end after one of them suicided for no reason.

So in the end I'd say we received about equal.

I converted about 4 specs from Olive after I eliminated them early, including a hypno, and 3 from TopKilla including a smuggler after their failed attack.

And just in case you've forgotten.. there really wasn't any gloaty messages..

  • Thank you for solidifying why I am glad to avoid you in future.

  • [quote="topkilla"]
There's many different ways it could be done, but the simplest example would be something like if a player falls below 5 bases, then their specialist hire time is doubled.[quote]
That's just gonna make hire slaves worse.
    My new party trick:
I swallow 2 pieces of string and an hour later they come out of my ass tied together.
    I shit you knot.

  • No, he means that it takes players with only a few outposts twice as long to hire their next specialist. I don't think it's the answer though.
I think it's up to the players in game to control it. See an ally farming specs? Ask for every 3rd hire...
I'd typically be moving against someone getting that sort of advantage very very quickly though.

  • Did a recap of the 'beefcat' game which has been referenced through this thread
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSLJIoENndI

Listening back I make a few silly mis-speaks (saying Queen when I meant King... saying Queen when I meant Teal or something...) but you can probably get the jist of it.

A lot of specialist gifting going on in this game.

Just watched your recap. Very enjoyable.
What you show is perservance prevails.

And nothing wrong with eliminating yourself if someone has been a douche: even if you don't take it personally.

However, putting screenshots of in game chat isn't cool. What happens in-game stays in-game.

  • Thanks for the feedback.

I was being accused of harassment & bragging, so wanted to show what really happened. I wouldn't have shown any strategy talk or anything like that. I've had allies send me in game screenshots (while the game was going) & refused to open them. I try to stick to the spirit of the game as much as possible :)
