    How would expiring specialists work?

I did in part agree with you, until I saw who the person who did this to you again was!

It's not a single person related. I just finally figured out the problem and an extremely viable solution. I've done every part of it. Being the receiver, gifting the specialists, losing to it, winning by it. I'm sure lots of others have too.

  • True, I've done those things at least once each.
I sort of like the idea of in game ranking being negatively affected by the more specs you have, though there are a million holes with this. It would be interesting to be able to trial various modifications.

    What if specials expired?

I don't know how I do it sometimes... but yes, lying def can form part of it from time to time. More often than not it's providing hope to the lower placing players or those in trouble.. feed them some info here and there.. help them with tactics if they're not as tactically smart.

But in your game I believe mostly they were after revenge against yourself or other players, or wanting help to survive. I'll have to look back at that game because I don't think I was getting specs from them until the mid/late game. And I was still fighting yourself and topkilla (who I didn't even realise I'd played against before until now!) when the other players were gifting me specs. I really shouldn't have won that game. You made a big mistake in not moving more drillers to protect your two kings. If you'd done that, I was gone.

It's funny you consider that as one of your least fav games, as I consider it one of my best. I keep meaning to do a recap of that game... it's been a while but I hopefully will get around to it. I may or may not include the part where you called me a pathological liar and that I have a mental illness ;) Honestly for me it's all part of the game and I hold no grudges to those who beat me, lie to me, etc. All part of the game and I'd work as much with them or against them as anyone else next time depending on the scenario we face.

  • What was this game called?

Edit: Found it. Beefcat. I also scored second here... But also, you're a dick. Lol. You didn't bother mining, but eliminated everyone... lol

I'm putting up a call to arms that no one should trust you, and that you're a blood thirsty terminator.

  • haha - I think that's the only game that I've won through elimination.
I don't think I could've won if I'd just tried to mine my way to victory... I thought attacking someone with two kings when I had none was suicide.. but my two admirals let me pick the places of engagement better. I didn't count on you gifting graybo an admiral though and thats where things really got dicey... without the extra specs I got from others I was gone, and with graybo not protecting their queen/kings well enough I somehow managed to pull it off. A lot of things had to go my way in the 2nd part of that game.

  • What if you could gift a specialist and set a time limit for your specialist to be returned. Or, to betray. Like it becomes a martyr.

This would of course lead to players being more cautious with who they deal with. That little guy could feed you all 5 of his specialist and have them destroy 5 of your most valuable outpost.

    Just throwing ideas around.

  • One player with a king doesn't beat their two neighbours teaming up against them....you need to ensure anyone getting too powerful is kept in check

If you're going to be wrong, please at least provide more insight than completely ignoring well written logic.
