    Greetings all,

Following the interest in the elimination tournament I thought I would propose another idea and see who is interested. The idea is that with the beta test coming to an end at some point in the coming months this contest will take place until the game goes live with the king of the hill being crowned at that point.

    So, here’s what I propose:

2 games are started twice a month on roughly the 1st/16th of the month:

Game 1 – ‘King of the Hill – Elite Division’
6 player game. Restricted access to the 6 players who qualify.
Points will be awarded in the following fashion for the finishing positions: 10/7/5/4/3/2.
At the completion of the game the top 3 players* retain their position in the ‘Elite Division’ and the bottom 3 are relegated and free to join the Qualifiers game if they wish to continue. The one condition to this rule is that the same 3 players cannot retain in the Elite division in consecutive games. If this happens the lowest ranked of the 3 is relegated and the 4th finishing player retains their spot.

Game 2 – ‘King of the Hill – Qualifiers’
10 player game that will be started by a certain time regardless of being full or not.
Publicly available game for anybody to join.
Points will be awarded in the following fashion for the finishing positions: 2/2/2/1/1/1/1/1/1/1.
At the completion of the game the top 3 players advance into the ‘Elite Division’

To get this all started we will have 2 Qualifier games going simultaneously. This will most likely mean the first elite division game will be a 3v3 but I don’t see many ways to avoid that.

So, who’s interested? Comments and feedback welcome as always.

If this gets a few quick bites then maybe we can get this started for the start of August. I would imagine needing 10+ players for this to get off the ground.

  • Decided that the easiest way to do this is to open 2 public games simultaneously and see if they fill. I'll get these setup in the next few hours and then we'll go from there. Goal is to launch on the 1st/2nd of the month depending on the interest we get. And if they both fill it'll obviously kick off earlier.

Keep an eye out for King of the Hill games!

(if you see them please join the one with less numbers in it so that they build up evenly)

  • And because the question was asked in game:

You can only play in 1 of the 2 qualifiers.

After this first round there will only be one qualifier game at a time so this won't be a reoccurring occurrence.

  • 13 players so far. Game 1 is almost full.

For all those considering joining I would suggest joining game 2 because less competition = more chance of promoting.
