That's a fantastic combo. The revered elder is the only counter I can think of. Nobody seems to mention that specialist much, but it's turned into one of my favorites exactly for these situations.

Any combo that will end up with you sending subs and damaging the outpost are countered by an assassin. Therefore, I think the Assassin is underrated versus high-power combos like diplomat combos, navigator combos, and engineer/thief combos

Can't believe nobody has mentioned these favorites of mine:

DOUBLE-KINGS -- because two is better than one. I had a sub with Pirate-Nav with 150+ drills attacking subs with 50D+, resulting in a ZERO drill loss to me. :D Used effectively it's absolutely devastating.

PIRATE-HYPNOTIST -- Everyone thinks the ultimate combo is a Pirate-Navigator-Assassin, however, i've used a Pirate-Hypnotist to great effect. Why kill when you can capture and convert Enemy Queens/specialists for your own use. :D

Me like. However your giving up more potential bases by not hiring a King.
Do you wait with it or something? Seems risky.

Does anyone know a defence against a martyr + navigator when you enemy also has a navigator + pirate + engineer a very high amount of drillers? Basically its two subs... If you don't move anything you'll get blown up and if you do move things they'll just take your outpost and repeat the process.
Actually I'm surprised no-one has talked about more than 1 sub before...

Wow, that's a fantastic combo. Only thing I can think of is pirate for the martyr and revered elder for the other sub. If you don't happen to have both of those specialists... I dunno.

on the same sub I'm guessing? but then you just move the martyr away and bring the drillers in to capture the pirate and revered elder. Only thing I can think of is another martyr + pirate + navigator....

Lately I've found a very nice synergy with the pirate and the general. Obviously the general allows your pirate to destroy 10 drillers per battle. In a single fight against a large force, 10 drillers isn't really that much, but if you can split up the battle into many smaller ones, you can easily decimate many drillers. In the last game I played, my opponent attempted to gather about 200 drillers at one outpost. Using my pirate, I was able to attack every sub he had caring reinforcements. Because of the General's ability, I basically destroyed 150 enemy drillers at a cost of only 70 of mine.

hahaha lately I've found a very nice synergy with any random specialists and generalSSSSS. You just send a few specialists in caterpillar formation and BOOM... each one takes of 30-40 drillers (if you have 3-4 drillers) you can easily decimate your opponents like this.

My friend came up with this one (he calls it the machine gun): two pirates, two navs, and any amount of specs that destroy drillers (works best with generals because they don’t have to be there). Target a sub with one pirate nav and get it back using the other, repeat until all drillers are gone. Can be combined with war heroes, reverend elders, assassins, etc. to maximize effectiveness.
