Way to "report" resigners or afk'ers

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I feel like because of the amount of people resigning a game in the beginning because of unfavorable circumstances or just not responding for 48 hours, there should be a way to "report" players who do this, or have an automatic system which does that.
I understand that in ranked, if you play enough there won't be any quitters because of the ranking needed, but in casual games it is common. (I will play the game a bit more before getting L2 :) )
Keeping in mind that we don't want to lose players for quitting, so the punishment can't be too severe. Thoughts on this?

  • The game does already keep track of how often a player resigns (just check their profile)
If you don't like what you see when a player joins your game, you can boot them if you're the host.

  • I strongly suspect it's people that haven't paid for an L2 update that resign, just so they can get out of the current game where they think it might be taking too long or isn't going so well.

What would be nice is to be able to set up a game that only allowed L2 players.

If people join a game and decide they don't like playing Subterfuge, they may feel resigning is the polite way to leave, instead of abandoning the game. Maybe this will happen less in a couple weeks.

Liike Spy3 said, you could set up a rated game. These are open only to L2 players. :)

I'm currently in my first game since launch and 4.5 days in we just had our 5th resignation in a 10 player rated game. The first 4 were auto-resigns including one that never logged in after the game started.

The 4 other people still playing are all guaranteed rating increases now. I'd suggest that the next game they play should have a minimum rating requirement of 1201 so that they can be guaranteed that everybody in the match has played a full game at least once.

I believe All rated games are L2 only. So that should help.

...Though the last rated game i joined not only had someone resign right away, but right before they did, they sent all of their subs at a single player seemingly just to grief them.

Really though, its probably not a bad idea to host your own game and boot players whose scorecard looks suspicious.

  • Rated games haven't helped. I just at started a six player game. One player resigned before the game started, another resigned 1 hour into play without making a move. Really unbalanced the game. One player who is adjoining those two quitters has gobbled up all of that territory undisputed. And we have a bunch of generators with 40 drillers and a bunch of factories with 76 drillers now I think. Three players with 10-11 territories and the other player with 17..... Just stupid.

  • I think people will stop resigning so much as time goes on. With the game being so new a lot of people are probably checking the game out then realizing they don't actually have the attention span for a game like this. After the initial flood of noobs I expect it will get better.
