[Feature Request] repairing an outpost

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Hello community

I had a thought about destroyed outposts and I think there is a way the developers can make them more interesting. What I propose is an ability to repair an outpost. It would work similar to drilling a mine. You would need to move a bunch of drillers to the outpost (say 100) and the proces of repairing would take be exactly like drilling a mine. The outpost would return to its original form. This will make it interesting if instead of ignoring these outposts you would fight for them and it would add in a new way to get ahead. Any thoughts?

  • That could be interesting but it would certainly lower the value of a Martyr.

That said, you shouldn't ignore them. You can still post drillers there and get increased fog of war and they count toward your NP production.

  • Maybe you have to use a specialist called the constructor which allows you to use 20 drillers to repair 1 destroyed outpost, can repair 5 in total, and becomes a martyr himself after that :D You actually aren't really getting 2 in 1 because you have to finish using the constructor, which isnt all that likely. And plus you can't rely on the constructor to turn into martyr at the times when you actually need it

  • I think people are just excited about Martyr's at this stage of the game being live and their use may taper off.

Do we know for sure that destroyed outposts count towards your NP production? In my findings, I found it not to be the case.

  • Even if it doesn't, posting a very modest number of drillers there gives you visibility, and I've found people generally don't want to attack you for obvious reasons.

  • I like the idea of the constructor. Perhaps he could chose if a destroyed outpost was a factory or generator. No cost, as its such a specific character, but would be an interesting terraforming mechanic. People may even destroy their own outposts. :D
