Damn you Ron!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I hit the 128 move limit.

Damn you Ron. (I had some good reasons to)

I know this was done because one of your beta testers crashed the game after sending A LOT of 1Drillers Subs out all at once upon his impending doom.

However...... I have 128 moves executed over 48 hours and not all with in 10 or 20 minutes.

Anyway an update could bring move caps for shorter time periods and not just a total cap overall? (Unless a total 128 does actually crash the game.... I was seeing some irregularity's....)

    Thanks!

  • Can't you just wait until some of the moves have happened to schedule some more? I can't imagine why ou need to schedule so many orders but I would have to think it's a definite edge case.

    Just because:

Unlimited orders is what was advertised.

Not that 128 is HORRIBLLEEE, but if that is the cap it would be nice if they changed the L2 wording.

More than 128 can be nice, as for timing sake lets say I have 128 drillers in base in 48 hours being fed from 4 other bases.

I want these drillers on a different base, so I just send an order to re-route them after it arrives.

I suppose I could just cancel all those orders and send them to the desired base... but the way the mechanics are currently it's easier to just send them as they arrive than cancel each launch and re-launch to a new base.

As well as the fact having to many drillers in transit is a BAD BAD thing, so routing them is nice, that way I have some wiggle room if I need to cancel some and turn em around.

  • That's a good point about the advertising. My guess is they wrote it before they found out you were able to crash the game by scheduling too many orders.

So are you scheduling them 6 at a time, every production cycle, to go all over your territory? I can't imagine keeping track of that many orders, but if it works for you, sounds good. As a workaround I still think you could check back in 12 hours later and schedule the next batch of orders you need.

  • The part i don't understand, is how you can make 128 orders work perfectly in your strategy even if your opponent move their fleet constantly ... At some point, you have to adapt your orders to their move.

  • I used to plan out some pretty elaborate movements, but found that players weren't always predictable. Then, when I need to change orders I would accidentally delete orders that I indeed want to make. (See the exhibition game where I lost my Queen to pmoney).

So now, I generally have movements planned in 8 hour blocks, so if I can log in and confirm that what I had planned is still a go and then start planning the 8 hours after.

I've had players plan movements against me where they believe they will take an outpost then have their factories automatically send drillers to that outpost as they are generated. What they don't realize is that I had a hire sitting back to promote an LT to a General and now all those subs of 6 drillers are going to waste.
