What do you like most about Subterfuge?

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Subterfuge is such an immersive game, but what do YOU think is the best part of it? Worst part?

  • Best bits for me:
    * A game that suits my life- busy working dad, don't have to be glued to it to play effectively (but please fix the notifications!)
    * Deep strategy, the specialists mix things up nicely, especially combos
    * No RNG! I have 10 subs (drillers), you have 5 subs (drillers) and 4 shield, I win.
    * The time machine is a fantastic feature.

    Worst bits:
    * Not able to play via a PC browser (but it's not a massive deal)
    * Buggy client causes crashes (but I know this is likely being worked on)
    * Hard to promote via YT, as the game doesn't easily lend itself to commentary
    * Buggy notifications- I can't be checking the client every few mins, if someone launches an attack on my outpost, I need to be told. Maybe give option for email notifications also/ instead?

  • I completely second madiranofo.

would just add "resigning players at the very beginning of a game" to the "worst" bits part

Small detail, but I think its important to use drillers when you're talking about drillers and subs when you're talking about subs. I get confused sometimes as well, but I usually correct myself. I almost lost what you were saying there... ;)

As for the best bit, is probably the diplomacy and the long time that it takes to play the game.
I'm sure game downsides will be fixed in the future (e.g. more game-modes, which the Devs are working on I believe), but one of the things that can't be fixed are the resigning players, which you can only really get rid of if you buy L2 clearance
