[FEATURE REQUEST] Honorable resignation

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • I would like there be a way to differentiate from auto-resignation, resignation, and honorable resignation. I'll provide examples for each:
Auto-resignation: Player times out after 48 hours. Would be marked as "AR"
Resignation: Player resigns on their own circumstances. marked as "R"
Honorable resignation: Another player "honors" a player's resignation, because it was tactful and realistic (ie someone resigns only having 2 generators and a factory left, surrounded by total of 100 subs). This would be available once a player resigns, a star would appear next to their name, which any player still in the game can tap. marked as "HR"

This way, as more people play the game, people hopefully won't discriminate against players with a high resignation rate if they see they are honorable (like surrendering in chess).

Likewise, I hope a commendation system (like in CSGO or DOTA2) will also be put in place, so you can see how many players liked a certain player.

All of these stats would be on their security card.

  • Agree with most of this but I think it would work better if the other player sets you to honourable resign while you're still in the game. That way you wouldn't be second guessing if they were going too and once they have set it they can't unset it because it would just open up trolling which you don't want.

Your way there's more trust involved, it's in the person interest for you to leave so I think this way would save people from unpleasant surprises.

Also people may just forget to do it after a games finished. Where's my way they can't forget. ;-)

  • According to me, you should never resign, whatever happens. If two or three players would persecute me, my only goal would be to stay alive as long as possible and do everything for they don't reach the leaderboard's top.

What if you won a game and someone's in rage because of a nasty move you made to him ? Automatic Dislike, and maybe for every game you would play with him in the future ..
I don't think it would be a great idea

I'm not particularly a fan of commendations for this game, i think learing to read other players and make decisions for yourself is an important part of a game with no formal teams.

That being said commendations in other game are usually limited to positive or nothing.

If there's only a positive option, then it would be fair. But i don't think Noel & Ron would spent time on this. It's not important, and there is so much to do now the game as been officialy realeased.
