Game notes

Strategy, feedback, or anything SUBTERFUGE-related

  • Just a little request for a future update.
It is great to be able to keep notes about other players.

Could we also have a tab where we can make notes about each individual game?

Where multiple games are running, it would be good to be able to keep a diary of happenings/plans in one place, to act as a simple reminder of things I've got cooking up. It could be a place where I can jot my ideas/notes/reminders etc without having to go through all the other players notes one by one to make sure I've not forgotten anything.

  • My note format is usually as follows:

    <Game number>: <Wake-up time> : <Friend/Foe> : <Trustyworthy> : <Behavior note>

So, after a few games with some players my note may be:

    1: 10a : Friend : Yes : Mines fast
    2: 10a : Foe : Promotes to Tycoon
    3: 10a : Friend then Foe : No : Mined fast

  • Interesting...

    I like Braxo’s Notes!

I should start using my notes more frequently as well.
So far I only use them in situations noteworthy! ; D

Interesting for me would also be response time (activity) and whether or not he is a skilled player. When I start a game I would want to ally with good active players. ^^

So I guess my nots will look like that from now on:

    Time Zone: -8
    Trustworthy: Yes/No
Response time: Smuggler / Lieutenant / Brain dead Sea Slug
Skill level: Neptune himself / The Kraken / Jelly Fish
    Strategy: Miner / Fleeter / …

  • Yeah, my notes look something like that too. I do 6 categories: Attitude, Playstyle, Tactical Sense, Diplomacy, Honesty, and Trustworthiness. It's served me well in the past.

Edit: As a side note, I also keep notes on myself (It would be great if the devs would let me put it in game!). I also keep tabs on which play styles get along and which ones don't, and try to find the Achilles heel of each playstyle.

Hope this is relevant and useful!

  • Here's a link to the spreadsheet I keep. It's got six tabs with detailed statistics on each type of player, and a seventh tab for charts and graphs. I've cross-referenced it with the leaderboard using VLookups to generate more accurate projections.

The only caveat is that since we just launched the sample sizes are still too small for any broad conclusions.

That link didn't come through in your post, I'd like to see it!

  • Haha, I was just kidding about all of that, its just a bunch of jumbled together terms I've heard from fantasy baseball. I don't really keep many notes in reality, I just kind of wing it.

  • Is there a max number of games that get saved in your past games archive? I've started taking basic notes because of this thread, but mostly I just list what game I ran into them in the past. That way I can look up our interaction. If past games go away eventually, though, thats less valuable.

  • I've started to keep stats on the players in my match, with a + or - in each game.

    Sleep time
Trustworty (+ if we were honest, - if betrayal took place)
Ally (+ if we were allies, - if we were enemies)
Talk (+ if we could chat, - if they didn't reply / kept their cards close)

(And if I feel like it:
    Strategy (a written note))

So someone who I was at war with, but we did talk about how it played out, could have
    Code: Select all
    S 8:00-15:00
    T +
    A -
    T +

Had a good chat afterwards, could be a good ally.
