not the event log. the combat report for the sub that has the specialist on it. if you release a specialist, click on the sub carrying it and then click the combat prediction it should say "[so-and-so]'s pirate freed". the one you posted earlier showing your sub combat doesn't include this.

Oh ok, I see what you're saying. Well I can't look at it now, it doesn't seem to give the option to view past combat reports.
