Intelligence officer - gives away his existence

Found any bugs? Tell us!

  • So one of my opponents territory is entirely in he dark to me and always has been - but I can tell he has an Intel officer by clicking on one of his stations and comparing the circles radius to my own... If my opponent had chosen assasin or pirate then quite rightly I wouldn't know that until I saw his specialist.

This destroys half of the benifit of having an Intel officer to get Intel that others don't know you have...?!?

Likewise my time machine seems aware of gifts made between other players in the dark - specifically combat predictions for the future change when a gift of a general is made to my enemy in the dark... Not much of a surprise to me when the moment a gift is accepted my projections update based on Intel I can't possibly have!

  • Not really a bug since it looks like this is intended, but I agree with you. You can see a lot of information you shouldn't have. For example if an opponent is at max capacity and the red dot disappears when you scroll forward in the time machine, you know at least that he is losing drillers or getting a generator, even if this happens outside your vision. Time machine always knows the exact numbers of outposts and drillers at any given time if there are no new orders. You don't get the exact numbers, but you get s bit of information you shouldn't have. This feels wrong to me.

    I completely disagree with this.

An opponent shouldn't be able to see that you have an intel officer.

This allows him to know what your line of vision is based on your circle, and he can mess with his troop numbers within your vision area to set you up for a failed attack.

Having an intel officer is much less useful if other people know your vision range and can use it against you to trick you.

  • The Time Machine can't see your opponents gifts or any specialist which doesn't have an effect on an outpost or sub within your view.

I think you missed my point. As I said, I agree with you. You get some information you shouldn't have. I am just saying the player should get either all the information the Time Machine has or the Time Machine should have only the information I have. Rather the last.

It can't see the gifts, but it can see the total number of drillers any player has at any given point if nothing changes. It's not the same but you still can get some information from it. For example: You have a player with 350 drillers and a max capacity of 400. You go 10 minutes in the future and there are suddenly red dots on his outposts which means he is at max capacity. It's most unlikely that 5 of his factories produced drillers at the exact same time. This means you know that he either lost a generator or got a gift.

Do your factories make 10 drills a cycle? Or was that just a mistake?

    Oops, caught me cheating.

No, miscalculation. 7 factories. Which makes it even more unlikely.
