Sentry Sonar Glitch

I'm in a game where an opponent has a sentry with ridiculous range. It's shooting at my subs, but the outpost it's at is outside of my sonar range. For some reason, when it targets my sub, I am given full visibility of the outpost. If this is intentional, I don't understand why or how it makes any sense to do that. In my opinion it shouldn't even tell me where the sentry is located or who's it is. You should just get a notification like "A sentry has targeted you."

This actuall makes sense. Imagine your drills chugging along and dropping in number, and you have no idea why. And it's because a sentry is just outside of range. Everyone would be reporting it as a bug.
If you're being shot at, you should be able to see where it's coming from.

It would make the most sense to simply have it say "One of your subs was shot by a sentry". Or it could show you the sentry at the outpost. But it doesn't make sense to show me all of the information about the outpost, including driller numbers, specialists, and next hire options.

Actually, I agree with v3xt. In real life, we wouldn't be able to see the sentry, all we'd know is that suddenly some of the drillers on a sub were shot. I think nothing should give away the position of the sentry, not even the time machine, unless the outpost is in your sonar range...And players should get notified that their sub is being targeted by a sentry(ies).
You could, however, work out where the sentry is located and the range of the sonar if you blindly send 3 subs at where you think the sentry is located. If you time it carefully and send enough (and the same amount of) drillers (and are lucky and smart) there should be 3 distinct points where the subs are shot, if you match the 3 points up you will be able to find the sonar of the sentry (as a circle can be defined by any 3 points which it passes through). And finding the circle can help you locate where the sentry is and and range of the outpost that the sentry is at. It would be tough work, but that would mean that smarter people would be able to get more of an advantage by knowing where the sentries are while other people might not)

It's definitely on purpose. It's very frustrating being shot by a Sentry and not knowing where it is.

Noel, I understand why you allowed players to see a sentry, but in my opinion it doesn't make sense to show all of the information about the base. It almost gives the player with the sentry a disadvantage because literally everyone in game can see that outpost, with all its specialists and the queens next hires. I'd suggest changing it to just show the sentry above the outpost if it's outside your sonar range.

Yes that would be extremely helpful to the situation that I am in right now. We are 19 days into a game of domination so we have had about 26 hires. I have 14 specialists (worth 18 hires) at one of my outposts (namely, 2 princesses, 2 sentries, a queen, 4 kings, 2 intelligence officers, a tinkerer, a MoE, and a navigator) I would much rather my opponents who are getting shot at in my ridiculously large sentry range (especially because I have another princess hire up next) don't get to see everything I have at that outpost and my future hires...

Yep. How about we add notification saying Sentry shot at the sub AND add the Sentry icon to the outpost (that is in fog of war). Basically, just remove the sonar range and number of drillers
