Targeting in crowded areas

Ok, so technically this isn't a bug, but it is by far the most frustrating thing in this game right now (for me)

It is extremely annoying trying to target a pirate or navigator (or pirate + navigator) when there are other units or bases nearby. The game keeps "snapping" to the object it chooses, which can make it almost impossible to target the intended target.

Can we make an "Exploded view" that you can enable in certain situations that keeps all the units with significant separation between them? or is there a better way of doing business?
