Unable to Queue More than 2 Specialist Hires

Found any bugs? Tell us!

  • I ran into an issue where I was moving my Queen with multiple hires available due to changes mid-travel.

The Queen is set to arrive during the night, so I wanted to queue up the correct hires and was able to hire two in the future but it won't show me any more. In fact, if I use one of them on a promotion I am only able to hire a single specialist before it stops showing me any as being available. (I can hire two, then promote however.)

This seems like a bug because these are 'banked' hires I already have in the present, so I should be able to see what they are after my queued hire is available.

  • I don't think that's a bug, just a built in limit. Where would you display the third set of hire options?

  • not a bug. scheduling future orders should not allow you to gain access to information not available to you in the present.

if we did what you ask, you'd be able to peek at future hires that you know nothing about in the present.

  • Sure, but since I have 3 of them banked right now I could have knowledge of them right now as well.

The issue is that you can't schedule the 'commit' of the hire as you could do in the present, so it doesn't allow you to do this.

This particular issue will put me at a major disadvantage since I won't be able to schedule the specialists becoming active upon arrival unless I set my alarm to wake me up at 4am. :)

I understand it for future hires that are > 16 hours in the future, but for ones that are already earned this seems unfair.

  • The game doesn't let you see more than two hires at any given time. It's by design, not a bug.

  • Fair enough, although I still feel like that is oddly prohibitive to the player who has banked hires to queue for correct timing. It is also potentially confusing that I can do hire->hire->promote but not promote->hire->hire.

That being put aside, is the current interaction with promotions correct? I can queue up two hires in the future, then do a promotion in the past and have it only show a single available hire in the future on my Queen. However, the queued hires don't show an error or go away. Basically, you can get a different outcome based on the order you input the queued action.

In this case, the forecasted action changes to be a different specialist the same slot and duplicated.

    e.g.
    Queue up hire for Pirate
Queue up hire for Double Agent
    Roll back in time, promote
Scroll forward, shows two Assassins spawning instead of Pirate+Agent (Assassin was in the middle slot in the second batch, like the Pirate)

  • yup, you can totally do that because you don't need to know what the 3rd hire is in order to promote!

  • My steps at the bottom are totally a bug right, though?

I queued up two hires in the future, then did a promotion a bit in the past and my hires changed to two completely different things from what I selected with one being in a set that I could not see because it was hidden after the promotion.

If future promotions become invalid, I would expect them to go red in the queue just like other invalid actions?

  • How are you doing a promotion in the past? That's the bug, right?
