Funny business

I experienced some funny business (technical jargon) when I hired Assassins, immediately launched one of each on two subs, both with drillers and one other specialist (a Smuggler and a Thief, respectively) toward two different outposts.

I was experimenting with arrival timing and driller count, and, multiple times, the game wouldn't allow me to cancel a sub launch, or--if I emptied the sub and tried to launch another with drillers and specialists--tapping on the second sub would show the first sub's 0 count, even though it would appear to launch properly with personnel when I scrubbed forward in the time machine.

I closed the app and switched back and forth between my iPhone and iPad several times, but I experienced the same uncancelable (is that a word?) subs or erroneously displayed 0 count on both devices.

I was trying to set up a complex maneuver at the last minute that needed to be precise within two or three ticks of the game clock, so it nearly gave me a heart attack when everything went all wonky. Haven't experienced the same problem again in the last several hours, though.

Were the subs that you couldn't cancel in the future or in the present? Also, did you have any other subs scheduled for that tick?

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible that you had two subs launching to the same outpost, one of them scheduled and one of them in the present, and maybe the game was getting confused about that.

Hard to say, because I can't see all the erroneous pre-launches (i.e., the bouncy times) when I scrub back in time machine, only what actually launched. The first sub (which would have been in the present when I started) still shows up as a pre-launch with 0 personnel; then one tick later, it turns into the two subs with personnel, pre-launch. Then, another tick later, it's those two subs pre-launch with a slightly different driller count, and then in the next tick they have launched.

But, really they were all set to launch in the present, because I kept getting the errors and then frantically tried to cancel and had to set up a new launch one tick later for each, ya know?

It's a head scratcher.

Thanks. Here's another question: How was your internet connection at the time? Were you in some sketchy connection (coffee shop, train going through tunnels), or did you have a solid connection at home with wifi?

The other theory is that maybe you were sending orders to the server, they got there, but you never got a response. Eventually you got the state from the server and the game was very confused. Just trying to think through different scenarios.

He said he was sending to two different outposts, not to the same outpost.
