Why can I see this?

  • It's not and had never been inside my sonar.
This is a clear glitch and needs to be fixed soon. These are all from different games.

This only happened to attacks against me. I never got notifications for these when they got launched or when they entered sonar range.

I don't see how such a simple and obvious glitch could sneak past the games code.

  • I don't think this one is really a glitch like the others but it's something interesting I figured out.

  • I'm not sure which color you are, but if a sub outside your sonar range is launched, and will land on an outpost of yours you can see the sub.

  • Yeah, it's because they are all going to an outpost you own. It's intentional

  • But other times I don't see it. You shouldn't see anything outside your sonar. It just doesn't make sense. I shouldn't see anything until they enter my sonar

It makes complete sense. You would be able to know whenever someone launches a sub at you. Regardless of where it is. Because the subs "lock on" to the target. Thus, your outposts sense the attack and show you. Also, it is supposed to give you a notification of this, it always does for me.
Every single time a sub is launched at you, there is a notification and a clear visual of the sub. Otherwise, it would be way too easy to sneakily attack people.
This is also why player ask others to send one driller from across the map at their base, in order to use a pirate to lock on and "slingshot" across the map at twice the speed.

  • Your sonar range is big enough so that it shouldn't be possible for a sneak attack to happen.

  • Playing with the sonar range before launching an attack which *does* reveal you is one of the best parts of this game.
I fully support the way things work relative to this.
