Sub being returned to origin without saboteur being involved

In a game I had two subs sent at me very close together, one of 117 drillers, one of 105. My plan was to degrade his subs with what I call 'missiles' (unescorted specialists using the generals ability to kill 10 drillers a time). The first specialist hit killed 10 drillers on the first sub and was captured. It continued towards my opponents outpost but when it met my opponents second sub that sub turned around and headed back to its outpost, the specialist was not a sabotuer.

This only happened when I had multiple 'missiles' travelling on the same line, when it was just one the captured specialist did not effect the second sub.

Did any of those subs have a speed bonus by any chance?

There is a bug with successive drillers or something. Best thing to do is spread out attacks a little bit.

To be exact there is a bug when multiple instances of combat take place during the same 10-minute time period. The second instance of combat will be cut short and the attacking sub will turn around.
However, this bug doesn't seem to be consistent. So far I have mainly seen it when multiple speed boosted subs are send in 10-minute intervalls, even more so if the intervalls were reduced below 10 minutes.
