account activation bug + others

  • In the app, I have a notification that I need to confirm my email address. I tap the resend confirmation email and receive the email at the right account.

    when I tap the confirm link in the email on my mac, safari loads http://play.subterfuge-game.com/account ... php?token=[token removed for this post] with the message: "Token does not exist / Account is already activated"

    However, the app still thinks I have not activated the email address.

    Looking at Account Home, shows: Verified email: NO

    Now, when I tap on Resend Confirmation Email in app, I get a Session Conflict alert, because I am logged in on the mac. I logout on the mac and try again and still get the Session Conflict alert. (NOTE: since tapping the link in email logs you in, maybe for purposes of resending confirmation, it shouldn't care about session conflicts?)

    Finally, I got into the alpha via invite. The invite let me install the game and says: After you install the app and create an account tap here to join the game.

    1) maybe it should say "activate and verify an account" because I didn't notice the verification part right off the bat, which may be why 2 is happening ...
    2) (without having verified my account) when I "tap here to join the game" iOS loads Subterfuge and immediately crashes. every time.

  • follow up:

    I looked at my email and found the original activation email. (in previous post, I didn't bother to find the original, I just tapped resend and used the resulting email).

    Tapping on verify in the _first_ email did result in proper account verification! Account Home now says Verified email: YES

    So that's good! Probably just need to clear out the old token when resend occurs?

    Unfortunately, tapping on the game inside the invite still causes the game to crash

  • Mine is still coming up with this error message. I've tried logging out and logging in and no joy. I've had 4 confirmation emails sent and they all say that "Token does not exist / account is already activated". Any ideas?

  • Each time you ask for a confirmation email, it resets your confirmation token and makes all previous links invalid.

    I suggest you tap that button once. Wait to get the confirmation email, and then follow the link.

    Let me know if that works or if it still gives you trouble.
