Time Machine vs Pirate

I might be missing something, but the fact that the Time Machine automatically runs forward as you deploy a sub seems pretty game-breaking for the Pirate. The speed difference of specialists doesn't seem to come into consideration until after you select a destination and load the specialists onto the sub, which is extremely problematic if the Time Machine makes the sub you're targeting disappear into its destination.

the way the pirate works is this: if you drag from an outpost that has a pirate, the time machine assumes you'd be traveling at 2x. if you can't target a sub because it reaches its destination before you can drag your finger to it, it means that the pirate can not reach the sub before the sub reaches its destination.

if this is not the behavior you're seeing, send us an email from within the game (using the "email us" tab) and we can take a look.

There is a bug with pirate still.

A potential sub with a pirate plus another +speed specialist cannot target an enemy sub that would otherwise make it to their base before a sub with just a pirate would get them. In the game I am in the middle of right now, I could take out a sub loaded with a queen by using a sub of mine, armed with a lieutenant and a pirate. However, when I try to target the enemy queen sub, it would get there a couple minutes too late and so I don't get to target it because just my pirate alone won't make it to the enemy sub on time. If I could somehow add on the lieutenant to the sub with the pirate, I could take out my opponent, but the game does not allow for that (at least, as it appears to me). So my purchase of the pirate did not help me, and might cost me the game. Meh.

For pirates, perhaps one way to fix this bug is to be able to tap on an enemy sub, and if you have a pirate in play, there is a button that says "target with pirate." Your pirate sub then targets that sub, and you can load whatever specialists you want onto the sub with the pirate. If at the time of the pirate sub's launch, it would not target a sub by the time it reaches its destination, then the pirate sub launches anyway, forfeiting the 2x speed for the pirate, and targeting the enemy sub's destination.

Lieutenants don't makes pirates go faster, if the pirate alone won't catch it then it can't be caught.

Speed specialists (with the expedition of the admiral global speed boost) do not stack. So a smuggler, helmsman and lieutenant on one sub would not be 3+2+1.5=6.5, it would only be the 3 from the smuggler.

Similarly, the pirate speed of x2 cannot be combined with the lieutenant bonus. Sorry man, but they're just a bit too fast for you

When I first started playing I thought speed stacked too.
