Description of puzzle: "Just like orders for launching subs, orders to hire and promote specialists can also be scheduled for the future".

So effectively this puzzle is teaching you how to hire or promote specialists in the future. At the start of the puzzle you should hire one of the selected specialists. The next chance to hire/promote a specialist comes at the 17 hours mark in the time machine. At this point you can either hire another specialist by clicking on your queen and selecting the new specialist to hire. Or you could promote a specialist by clicking the specialist you wish to promote and then selecting ‘promote’. Please note that not all specialists can be promoted though.

Sorry I'm not being any clearer. It's hard to give help on this one without telling you the answer.

The only people coming to this topic are going to be people who are frustrated and want the answer.

The problem with what you are saying is that no matter what you hire or promote, it starts by your queen. So there is no possible way to get it transported to Vintgar in time to fulfill the objective or have any impact whatsoever in helping you maintain Vintgar.

Edit: ok I figured it out. What I did not understand (and don't really think is made clear) is that some specialist abilities affect the whole map and not just the node they are at.

telfire, that's why the mission is called "Global Abilities". A "Global" ability, in game-speak, is an ability that affects the entire game/map/"globe", not just things in the immediate area. Specialists like the General, Inspector and Tycoon have "global" map presence through their abilities.

I can maintain Vintgar going through the promotion process but it doesn't say I've completed the puzzle and I've tried it with different specialists. what am I doing wrong?

U have to maintain Vintgar the whole game, u cant lose it then get it. Maybe thats ur problem

Tried every possible scenario and hire and combination (future and present) that I could think of and I still can't pass this. Could use a hint right about now
