"Bazzar at Sea" by Nojo34
There are two merchants and everyone is a warlord. Warlords cannot hire (only promote) by bidding for specialists auctioned by the merchants, who are on opposite sides of the map. Hires cannot be pirated, nor their destination outposts. All players start with 10 outposts total before any battle may occur. Domination mode
"Pirate Seas" by bleatingsheep39
Everyone must hire IOs, pirates, or navigators when available. No battle may occur until everyone has at least two "ships" of Navigator/Pirate combos, one containing their Queen. More than one "ship" can be created if someone doesn't have their two yet. Once Everyone has two ships, battle begins, with the only battle being ship-to-ship. Last man standing wins, Domination mode.
"In Equal Measure" by Pandasecret
Everytime you attack someone, you must gift someone else the same amount of drillers at the same time, but can be launched from a different outpost. Everytime you gift someone drillers, the same amount of drillers must be sent out to attack someone else. Mining mode.
Runner-ups from older ESGs:
Rabbit
After 3 days from game start, 3 players marked as "rabbits" must survive for 7 days while all other players try to eliminate them. After 7 days, if the rabbit survives even by one outpost, all others must resign. Mining game (no mining allowed).
7th day
Do whatever it takes, mine, backstab, make alliances, but after 168 hours, your goal is to be on top of the leaderboard! Mining game. All others who aren't 1st must resign or let themselves get eliminated.
